Античная французская бронза XIX века работы ЖЮЛЯ МУАНЬЕ (1835- 1894 г.): СЕТТЕР С ЗАЯЦОМ, сеттер смотрит на зайца, присевшего под листвой, надпись на краю овальной основы: «J MOIGNIEZ». Провенанс: Частная коллекция, Беркшир, приобретена у Arthur Ackermann & Son Ltd., Лондон, январь 1985 г. (согласно копии оригинальной квитанции).
Жюль Муанье (28 мая 1835 – 29 мая 1894) был французским анималистом. скульптор, работавший в 19 веке. Его работы в основном отливались из бронзы, и он часто выставлял свои скульптуры в Парижском салоне. Он был наиболее известен своими бронзовыми изделиями с изображением птиц, хотя его мастерство и универсальность позволили ему создавать качественные скульптуры лошадей (в основном скаковых лошадей), скульптуры собак и сцены охоты. Его скульптуры были одними из лучших, когда-либо созданных в его время.
